Obsolescence Risks
Obsolescence of test equipment that is used as part of a manufacturing or support process, presents a risk to organisations. In the extreme case, failure of equipment that has become obsolete could cause loss of capability until a replacement can be integrated into a process. Obsolescence is of particular concern for industries with long life-cycle products such as defence or aerospace where manufacturing or support may continue for 30 years or more.
